Gambledown Farm produces high quality, traceable meat. Our Shorthorn cattle, known for their outstanding beef, graze on grass and cover crops year round. We sell steaks, mince and burgers in our honesty shop, if you would like to reserve a roasting joint for your stay please get in touch. Every spring we hand rear orphaned lambs adopted from our neighbouring farm, their meat is seasonably available

Gambledown keeps a few pigs each year to provide guests with streaky bacon, back bacon and sausages, see what's available in our honesty shop or order a box in preparation for your stay

Pizza nights

At the farm we have a number of happy free range chickens, peak inside their coop to see if you're lucky enough to be able to collect a few of their newly laid eggs

For the full farm experience Glampers can rent their own personal chicken coop outside of their tent for fresh eggs every morning

​

We sell boxes of 6 eggs in our farm shop for those staying in our barns

Our shop is stocked with holiday treats such as Purbeck ice cream and local honey and jams

 

You can also find farm stay essentials including extra firewood, charcoal for the BBQ and marshmallows for toasting on the camp fire

We keep the fridges stocked with fresh milk and fruit juice, along with a supply of pasta and easy food to make self-catering that little bit easier

​

Gambledown Farm produces high quality, traceable meat which is available to buy from frozen in our farm shop.  Seasonally available this includes burgers, sausages, bacon, steaks, lamb, and joints are available on request

Pizza Nights

Every Tuesday and Saturday during high season we serve up delicious authentic pizza fresh from our brand new wood-fired pizza oven tucked away in our barn

Made to order we have a range of toppings you can choose from, with vegetarian options available

​

£13 per person. Please let us know if you would like to join in during your stay

Recipe:  Spring Prawn and Asparagus

​

Ingredients

​

Dice 1 small onion

Dice a leek

2 garlic cloves finely chopped

handful of flat leaf parsley chopped

1 tin of cannelline beans

1 glass (small) white wine

250 gms chopped asparagus

200 gms petit pois

1 lemon squeeze the juice

1 packet of prawns (fresh or frozen)

2 spring onions

1/2 tspn dried chilli

dollop of olive oil

1 pouch of chicken stock

Method

​

- Cook the onions, leeks, spring onions and garlic on a low heat in olive oil, adding the chilli when the onions are softened

​

- Saute the prawns (if frozen defrost fully before cooking) until they are pink, add the wine, chicken stock and frozen peas, chopped asparagus, parsley, lemon juice, and beans, cook until the asparagus and peas are al dente

​

- Serve with grated parmesan and quinoa or brown rice or a baguette to mop up the sauce

Recipe:  Lamb Kofta's

Ingredients

​

Gambledown Farm lamb mince 500 gms

1/2 tspn cumin

1 tblspn soya sauce

Chopped red onion

​

Kebab sticks soaked for 10 mins

Rose Harissa paste and yoghurt

Hummus

Lettuce

Method

​

- Add the chopped onion and soya sauce, cumin, lamb mince and mix together with your hands

​

- Squeeze lumps of meat firmly around the kebab sticks, cover and refrigerate for 30 mins or longer

​

- Cook on a bbq or griddle, turning regularly until cooked through

​

Warm up a wrap, spoon on the hummus, rose harissa paste, yoghurt, lettuce and kebab

​
